Spring is here in all its variety of sunshine, birdlife, frost and wind and so is a tasty young red from a vineyard in Central Otago, which is made from grapes grown this year, 2024.
This is a wine that was made to drink slightly chilled to celebrate its light-ish tannins and fragrant aromatic appeal. This means about 20 minutes in the fridge. It was made from a single site and a single clone of Pinot Noir grown on Mora's vineyards in Central Otago. Without further ado, here is my wine of the week.

2024 Mora Late RRP $35
Laeto is Latin for rejoice and this juicy young thing is an excellent reason to do just that. Drink lightly chilled and to enjoy the aromatic expression of a youthful Pinot Noir (made entirely from clone 777), using whole bunch fermentation to lift its aromatic appeal and accentuate its soft fruity flavours. This wine is dry with a deep ruby hue and intense flavours dark cherries and ripe summer berries. The portion of whole bunch fermentation adds vibrant youthful appeal to this lovely lighter take on Pinot, which has impressive flavoursome depths and deliciousness. Drink now and over the next 11 months; in time for the next vintage.
